Train walking: estate route Zwolle-Heino

This walk starts at Zwolle train station. If you don't live in the area, it's definitely worth the trip to explore this area. The end point of this walk is Heino train station.

From Zwolle to Wijhe
Zwolle used to have a favorable location on an existing trade route and the city could benefit from this. Now you can still see traces of this rich history in Zwolle: decorated facades, the defensive wall, the Sassenpoort, the Peperbus and the star-shaped city canal. This blue net walk starts in the Hanseatic city of Zwolle at the train station. Via the English Work you walk south over the Schellerdijk out of the city. You walk along the Schellerwade through Oldeneel, Schelle, Harculo and Herxen to Wijhe.

Estates and historic buildings
During the walk you will pass Landhuis de Colckhof. The country house itself is not accessible, but walking on the paths of the estate is allowed. Experience the romance of the English gardens. Nearly 60 bird species breed at the Colckhof, so bird watchers can indulge themselves. You will also pass by Castle't Rozendael in Raalte and Het Nijenhuis. This is a beautifully preserved manor with a beautiful art collection, regularly changing exhibitions and a beautiful sculpture garden. After viewing these beautiful sights, continue walking to the end of this route: Heino train station.
